Der Physikerin Dr. Vivian Morgan scheint der Nobelpreis sicher zu sein. Sie hat Beweise für Gravitationspartikel gefunden. Ein letzter Test und ihre Arbeit kann endlich an die Öffentlichkeit. Doch anstatt den Lohn ihrer langjährigen Arbeit zu ernten, findet sich Vivian im Jahre 589 n. Chr. in England wieder. Zu allem Unglück kommt noch, dass die Bewohner sie für eine Hexe halten und kurzerhand auf dem Scheiterhaufen verbrennen wollen. Doch mit Hilfe nützlicher Informationen aus ihrem Notebook kann Vivian alle beeindrucken und der Hinrichtung entgehen. Stattdessen wird Vivian sogar von König Artus höchstpersönlich in den noblen Kreis der Ritter der Tafelrunde erhoben. Von nun an beeinflusst Vivian als Sir Boss die Ereignisse im 6. Jahrhundert...
