从公司光荣退休的清田清一受原公司之托到电玩店再就业，离开工作了数十年的公司，他不禁有些伤感。走在回家路上，遇到违反公德的青年，他忍不住出手教训了那人一顿。回到家，妻子芳江和住在二楼的儿子健児、儿媳贵子、孙子佑希为他准备了庆祝退休的聚会。席间，在贵子唆使下健児提议把已经没有学生的剑道教室改成钢琴教室由贵子经营，清一大怒，气冲冲离开了家，来到老伙伴立花重雄开的酒馆，与立花重雄、有村则夫一起喝酒。三人谈起现在世风日下，小区内色狼小偷越来越猖獗，约定结成“三个大叔”巡逻队，义力为街坊领居维持治安。初次行动，清一和则夫就从抢包犯手中解救了一位妇女，二人没留姓名就转身而去，从此，匿名的正义使者三人组成了坊间的话题人物。
