高鸣越来越虚弱，在他生日这天，他坚持要再画一幅画更新到自己的微博上，白术委婉地交代高鸣的父母这几天多陪陪他吧。在生命的最后时刻，高鸣给父母安排在高档餐厅过结婚纪念日，父母在高鸣面前表现得很是欣慰，背地里却不禁默默落泪。高鸣在微博上更新了父母在自己安排的餐厅吃饭的照片，紧接着又更新了他为EICU医护人员画的卡通画。最终，高鸣选择放弃治疗，并签署了器官捐赠书，把生的希望留给更多有需要的人。高鸣的死，让肖砚与白术都非常伤心，肖砚坐在电脑前刷着高鸣的微博，当她打开邮箱的时候，发现是高鸣生前给她和白术画的漫画，漫画上是一个疲惫的女人倚靠在椅子上睡着了，一个男人轻轻地给她盖上了毯子的瞬间，而这个场景被高鸣看到，并记录了下来，肖砚才恍然大悟，她之前一直误以为给自己盖毯子的是姜杉。
